Description: The group Auļi was founded in year 2003. A part of group's members have already played in the first Latvian bagpipes group Dūdinieki, which was founded in 1994. Auļi play traditional bagpipe music combined with drums, percussion and other traditional instruments. Regardless of the fact that there was few evidences left of bagpipe and drum playing traditions in Latvia both instruments were mentioned in the folklore materials. Our music pieces reflect creative approach of the group members. Auļi repertoire contains dances and bagpipe melodies including tunes of other European nations as well as drums' solo pieces.
