Description: Folklore group Kolnasāta was formed in connection
with creation of the museum of Francis Trasuns. At the vicinities of the museum
live many female folk singers, among them many expert singers of the funeral psalms.
The museum was carrying out various arrangements and inviting the
folklore group Rūta from Rezekne
(I also had sung in it for 13 years), so I decided to offer the local women
to sing folk songs together and to participate in the activities of the museum.
We perform songs of our parish, basically those collected by Felikss
Laizāns on the verge of XIX and XX centuries, and songs on verses of our
countrymen J.Klīdzējs and Fr.Trasuns.
We have participated in festival Baltica-97 (in Riga), in festival of
Latgalian television in 1997 (in Rezekne) and in many arrangements in Rezekne
district. On weddings we sing chaffing and wedding songs.
